Boys State
American Legion Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high school students.
Boys State registration is upon us, and as the closest Post to the MD Boys State, we are always encouraged to identify prospects for this these classes. The Post will pay their tuition & sponsor them. So for all boys who meet the criteria, information is available via the Commander. It is a great program and attracts an impressive cadre of young men to McDaniel College in Westminster for a week of leadership and team building as well as formation as good citizens.
As Maryland Boys State is in Westminster, we strive to have a good representation from our Post as Volunteers for this important endeavor and great Legion Program.
This year, Boys State is June 15th to 20th.
THIS IS A MAJOR LEGION PROGRAM. IT IS IN OUR POST BOUNDARIES. POST 31 IS ON BOARD AND READY TO SERVE!

Oratorical Contest
High school students in and around Westminster have been invited by Carroll Post 31 to compete in our Annual American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program. The purpose of the Oratorical Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school students. Click Image below to learn more.

American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Program
The American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Program is a gun safety education and marksmanship program that encompasses the basic elements of safety, education, enjoyment and competition. Shooters use the .177 caliber air rifle. Both males and females can participate, through Legion sponsorship; disabled youth are encouraged to join, as competitive shooting is a sport that creates an equal playing field for all competitors.
Tim Bauerlien is starting the Legion Junior Shooting Sports at our Post. Please click the image below for more information about the program and contact Tim for information on efforts to get the program going here.
